Vagaries of time

You know that its time you grew up, when someone much younger to you decides that they need your approval for a life changing decision that they have either taken recently or are close to taking.

But is it abnormal that you just don't want to grow up?

I am goin by instinct..
Is this about Prabhu asking you whether to move from Blogger? :)

I would clarify myself rather than putting myself into an embarassing situation later.
Prabhu posted a very similiar thing a few days ago; which I found was very similar to this. Thats y I said this.
Jus a wild guess!

Vayasaarado Aagallaiyo, Sunil Gavaskar used to wear a T-Shirt that had a funny message (because of its inverted logic):

"An ADVICE: Never Give It!"

:-)

Me: Hmmm...I am not alone in the first aspect. The second though?

Zero: Nah, me and Prabhu seem to be of similar age. So that shld answer ur first qn. And second, its not about blogger!

Thennavan: I HAVE/HAD/WILL CONTINUE to give some advice. Hope it's worth it! Time only shall tell! But the advice is not the question. The fact of the matter is I seem to have grown up! That is what is troubling me....

I think it is pretty normal. That you dont wanna grow up. I think u r not grown up until you want to grow up. You will definitely have grown up when you think you want to grow up.

Ok me off, before I get spanked :)

Whats with the philosophy ? I think its nice not to grow up... Who would wanna approve a life changing decision that could possibly end up in a calamity... To much of a troubethaana ?

O exalted one, I wanted to buy some tulips for a bridal shower. Should I get pink ones or pink ones with white border? very important, need advice imm.

Ok ok..i know I was supposed to be gone..going ....tata! seeya next week..have fun in niagara hobnobbing with desi aunties and uncles with camcorders and strollers.

Alpha: O Respected one, who am I to advice thee on bridal shower accessories? Have not even figured out what the concept of a bridal shower is. Now, a bachelor's party, yes, I might be able to help you out with gift ideas! So, coming back to the shower, do u shove the lady into the shower forcibly to make sure she has a nice scrub before her wedding? Anyways, I think I have seen tulips only once, so cant help you with that. Me from hot hot Chennai, where malli is the poo of choice and tulips WERE as unknown as the depths of each pothole on G.N.Chetty Road.

Somu: Ya, I feel that way too :( But in a way, I am proud that I was approached. And the advice was more like information to gauge my reaction. And being the older one, I had to throw in some advice, ever wondering if that was what why I was even approached. And calamitous, it would not be, for sure. But it is certainly trouble when u start worrying about being trusted so much.

SK: Let me get this straight. So to grow up, I have to want to grow up and when I think about wanting to growing up, I certainly would have grown up? :p

Hee Hee...Anti boy, your profile says 26-30 man, you are grown up! you can be one of those forever-a-baccha-at-heart, that's okay, allowed.

But don't talk in a baby voice ok? One of my girl friends talks in a baby voice for hours man!!! It drives me up the wall...if a guy did it, I would have to kill him..

don't give advice on life changing decisions...saw my blog na, I'm getting bashed up for that very thing :)

canada side or us side?

BZ said...

anti, LOL! :) u actually tried to make sense out of it? :))

Just kidding. No thoughts buddy, so just joking arnd.

Gabby: Baby voice? I don't know. I know I don't have a gruff voice! In the shower, I seem to sound like SPB or Hariharan as and when I want to and on the phone.. errr.. leave it. Haan, but I am bound to this person for whatever reason, so have no choice. And ya, US side. Am still on my OPT and so can't risk a trip to the other side!

SK: Ya, obvsly I tried to make sense. I try to make sense outta everything. I am the born analyzer and Freud would have approved of me for sure!

Eventhough it is a pain, to realise that you are ageing day by day, a nice feeling of gaining maturity & experience will be there on everyday you pass by...

BTW.. just do some windowshopping in www.dreamstores.blogspot.com, man...

The heart can always be young even if the body is old. So how you want to live is really up to you. You don't need to act old if you don't want to - just don't act childish. Brrr thats icky :ppp

Harish said...

I don't wanna grow up either! :( But ppl keep tellin me I seem to show no signs of doing so anyways! oh well...

hey, did a cousin of urs ask u what course to take in college? :)

anantha said...

Harish: Nah, I don't think i showed any signs earlier, either and that a jujubeee qn. Again, the qn was not the hard part. But the hard part was coming to terms with the fact that I am looked at with the respect and expectation that a older person receives.

Anand: :p

Zero: Soooper!

J: Welcome :) What!!! 5 yrs to live??? Wassup with that? Live it up! And ya, dont grow up for sure. The kids seem to have all the best things in life now, than when i was undoubtedly in that state!

Visithra: I think, oru iruvathu dharava padicha dhaan puriyum nenaikaren. Aana neenga sollareenga, correcta dhaan irrukum nu nambi.. oru periya salaaam podaren thalaivi!

Kurt Cobain once said... its better to burn out than to fade away. So me gonna do just that. Just waiting to tick everything off my list and then *SHOOT* :)

Anonymous said...

its an irony tht ppl are reluctant to accept the fact tht they have grown up but still expect the younger one to listen to them. ru tht kind?

anantha said...

J: Kurt Kobain huh... hmmm...And he was Mr.Nirvana. Thats the irony, if you ask me.

Preethi: Whoa... Do I know you? :p And ya, I did not expect the "younger one" to listen to me. I am sometimes preachy, but again, I am not domineering. So, if I said something, I was just stating my opinion...Anyways, cheers...

Anonymous said...

ppl mostly share things and they expect a certain kind of reaction.its upto the listner to understand the situation and 'state' their opinion accordingly and not let the person down...n yeah u do know me

anantha said...

Uhh ohhh.. again!

Anonymous said...

does tht make sense to u?
