Sepia Mutiny has this post on the release of 79 desi DVD titles on Netflix. But what really caught my eye in that post are these words -
This comes in the same week that GV Films announced their intent to create a legal Bollywood (and Tamilwood [is that even a word? - ed]) film downloading system
According to a news release that I found on GV Film's website, this translates to almost 6000 movie titles that will delivered to paying customers (who possess a credit card) via two portals - "gvtamilfilms.com" and "telugupictures.com"!
While this is awesome news, I am at a loss trying to figure out how this peice of news passed under the radar for over 2 months (the press release on the GV films site is dated 17th Aug.).

this is good....but some how i dont like watching movies online.....last couple of years i would have watched 4-5 movies ...
The site mentions about subscription plans does'nt mention a word about how much it costs to watch or download a movie. Right now none of the movies are online. They also seem to offer a free movie per week (does'nt matter as long as the movies are offline). The movies probably were never online since the launch date/ pulled down after a while to make waves in the movie watching community.
BTW are you aware of a site similar to Netflix called Indiahuthouse.com, this has a huge collection of Tamil/Hindi movies. Collection is too good, happened to 9-12 DVDs for 25$ monthly subscription, not bad at all.

This will be great, if it delivers on the promise. No mention of the price, though.
